Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your visit or donation.

There are many ways to help! You can make a financial donation, sponsor a specific horse, volunteer your time, donate items from our ranch wish list, or book a visit and riding experience. Every contribution โ€” large or small โ€” makes a real difference in the lives of our animals. Visit our Support page to learn more about all the ways to get involved.
Visit our Services page for full details on all our experiences โ€” including ocean view trail rides ($45โ€“$65/person), wine & ride ($75), sunset dinner rides ($90), overnight hacienda experience ($225), riding lessons, kids programs, and ranch tours. All visits require a reservation.
We're located at R85 Calle Merano, Primo Tapia, near K45 โ€” about a mile past Rancho Guzman. Look for the stone and iron gate marked "85." We're next to Trail Ride Amigos but are not affiliated with them. See our Directions page for GPS, video directions, and a printable map.
Visit our Support page or contact us directly at Krystal@newdawnbaja.org to arrange a donation. New Dawn Ranch & Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit โ€” all donations are tax-deductible. EIN #81-2485867.
Contact us at Krystal@newdawnbaja.org to get started. Sponsorships start at $75/month for a pony and $100/month for a horse. Premium sponsorship at $200/month includes two rides per month plus a lesson with our trainer. All tiers include ranch access and discounted lessons.
Visit our partner listing at AdoptAPet.com or contact us directly. We work with foster families in San Diego for meet-and-greets so you don't need to cross the border. Reach out to Krystal@newdawnbaja.org to learn more.
We're open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We operate by reservation only โ€” please call (760) 663-6014 or email us at least 48 hours in advance. Visits outside regular hours can be arranged with 48-hour notice.
Not at all! Our 1-hour trail rides are suitable for complete beginners โ€” we'll match you with the right horse and guide you every step of the way. Our 2-hour rides are geared toward riders with some experience. We also offer riding lessons for those who want to build real skills from the ground up.
Our adoption process starts with a minimum of 6 months of full sponsorship. This gives you time to build a real bond with the horse before making a permanent commitment. The adoption fee varies based on the horse's rescue costs, rehabilitation, and training. Owner boarding is available at $275/month if you'd like the horse to remain at New Dawn. Contact us at Krystal@newdawnbaja.org to get started.
Yes, we are located in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico โ€” about 30 minutes south of the San Diego border crossing. You will need a valid US passport or passport card to re-enter the United States. A standard driver's license is not sufficient for re-entry. Please plan accordingly!
We'd love to hear from you! Send us an email at Krystal@newdawnbaja.org with the subject line "Horse Story Submission" and we'll send you the details. We especially love stories from adopters about life with their New Dawn horses.
